• Challenge
The challenge
Checkout, cash counters and cash office had to be sealed from the rest of the store, while other openings each needed a different size - mixing single-barrel automatic, double-barrel automatic and long fixed fabric runs.
• Solution
Our approach
A combination of fixed and automatic curtains engineered to the store drawings, including coordination to shift cable trays, AC ducts and lighting so curtain lines could follow the fire strategy.
Warehouse fire spread
Open warehouse bays give fire a clear path across stored goods. Curtains divide that volume so a single incident does not write off the entire building.
Outcomes
- 1,089 m² of fire curtain compartmentation
- Appointed through Walmart's own multi-stage procurement
- 120-minute integrity at 1000°C with SS E-glass cloth fabric
