• Challenge
The challenge
Exhibition halls, a large convention centre, atriums and service cores created widely different opening geometries. The brief required large-area smoke barriers, compact lift-lobby fire curtains, drops of up to 16.5 metres, a continuous curved boundary of about 100 metres, and phased installation.
• Solution
Our approach
Smoke curtains across seven halls; fire curtains at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Podium Hall and six service-core lift lobbies; and a multi-bay circular fire curtain of approximately 100 metres with gravity fail-safe deployment and BMS integration.
Standards
Systems are supported by EN 12101-1, EN 1634, EN 13501-2, CE certification and ISO 9001:2015. Performance of the multi-bay curved installation is considered as an assembled system, especially at bay junctions.
Outcomes
- Smoke curtains across 7 halls, including a 16.5-metre drop
- Continuous curved compartmentation of approximately 100 metres
- Approximately 32,000 m² of curtain installations
