• Challenge
The challenge
Open-plan cafeteria counters, an internal staircase and an irregular Live Studio opening had to remain unobstructed in daily use, yet seal automatically under a fire signal - including a four-sided studio enclosure over 26 metres in girth.
• Solution
Our approach
Straight curtains at Ground and First Floor counters and the stair opening; a large accordion square-type curtain enclosing the Live Studio. Gravity fail-safe deployment from concealed head boxes throughout.
Standards
Curtains tested to EN 1634-1 and EN 12101-1 (minimum 240 minutes integrity at up to 1100°C), classified to EN 13501-2, with EN 15269-11 covering oversized openings. CE marking and Declaration of Performance available on request.
Outcomes
- Approximately 477 m² of compartmentation
- Widest straight span 14.49 m; tallest curtain 3.8 m
- Largest accordion girth over 26 m
